Rabia,
Merry christmas and Eid Mubarak, are were celebrating Id ul-Adha (or "Eid al-Adha" "Festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid") in November?
In the Netherlands we see the Muslims celebrate their Eid ul-Fitr (Arabic: عيد الفطر ‘Īdu l-Fiṭr), often abbreviated to Eid, a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, in Dutch called "Het Suikerfeest" (the sugar or sweet party), and Dutch Muslims and Mosques invite non-muslims to joyn, to eat and drink (tea or coffee) with them. Dutch people with Maroccan, Turkish, Surinamese Muslim, Iraqi arab or Kurd, Iranian or Afghan neighbours who have good relations with them know this. A friend of mine got food from his Maroccan neighbours one evening. They rang at his door and suddenly he got a delicious plate with food. He was very pleased! It tasted good!
So in the Middle-east Muslims and christians celebrate eachothers celebrations too! I know some Muslims who also celebrate christmas and the Dutch Sinter Klaas feest for their kids!

Hope you had a great suger (sweet) party at the end of the Ramadan and a nice Festival of Sacrifice, that you could share some with the poor and that you enjoy christmas with your christian friends! Have a nice weekend! Pieter

Rabia, thanks for wonderful Christmas greetings. I understand you very well when you tell that you are tired with three small children. Do you have any good girlfriends? this helps! How is the weather down there? it is probably hot. When we were in Mexico it was hot.
I cannot see your attachment file now since we are still at the inlaws. I will try to see it in two days after we will be back in Idaho. We will be going back tomorrow.

Merry Chistmas to all of you! Thanks, I enjoyed listening to it Tuftabis. I have arrived at my parents place in the South-West of the Netherlands (Zeeland province) to celebrate christmas with them. My mother made a delicious Wild boar (Dzik) diner, with Polish koleslaw, patatoes, self made Apple sauce and a good Game (food) saus, with an exellent Spanish Rioja wine and French Saint Emilion. It's good to be with family, it is good to be with my dear parents and it's Chistmas time! I wish you Tufta, Jaga, Rabia, Bob, Kaima, Pawian, JJ, Nictoe, Uncle John, Erik, and others some good days with your family too! Enjoy the ligth and the Joy and the birth of our good guy! Pieter

Dear JJ,
My mother does not have a special recipe for it she just uses her lifelong experiance and the things she learned from my great babcia who was a great cook in Poznan.
My babcia really could have been a topcook in a very good French (Polish) restaurant due to her refined and tastey dishes. Especially with christmas and easter!
By the way I forgot to mention the Brussels sprout, she used a little bit of that in the yesterday evening Wild Boar (Dzik) for diner too!
A great and cosy christmas for you too JJ!
Pieter
