This is a rather silly and simple song, but it had a great significance for me. Because the song was the start if a great love in Amsterdam. Dancing in Amsterdam discotheques with her. It was before I went discovered the larger House Clubs and techno clubs later that year!

Pieter, I agree that this song may have an extra flavor when you walk in Amsterdam. I noticed that songs that are suitable for certain occasions - like movies, yoga, group power, feel and sound differently when they are listened to at these times when they signify a certain role. This is a rather silly and simple song, but it had a great significance for me. Because the song was the start if a great love in Amsterdam. Dancing in Amsterdam discotheques with her. It was before I went discovered the larger House Clubs and techno clubs later that year!

This is a song that I was able to catch in Polish radio, by a British group: "It is immortal". It has also its unique style:

Nice song, it has the typical early eighties sound of the British pop music of that time. It has a certain atmosphere, style of singing and video clip you saw in these days. Light new wave style with a New Romantic touch. But Black Marble isn't British at all, Black Marble is the stage name of American electronic musician Chris Stewart. For me however he hasn't an American sound but a typical British sound of that era. How he uses his base line, synthesyzer and drums is typical British.

Black Marble sounds like British bands like New Order, Cocteau Twins, the early Simple Minds, Wire, Duran Duran and etc.

The disco and nightclub feeling of the eighties and nineties when going out was magic.

I like this rock song with it's amazing electronic intro. Baba O'Riley was released on 1971 classic album Who's Next. The title is derived from the combination of the song's philosophical and musical influences, Meher Baba and Terry Riley, and describes the scenes Pete Townshend witnessed during the Who's legendary performance at the Woodstock Festival. Press on the youtube logo in the right down corner if you want to listen to the music. Lyrics: Out here in the fields I fight for my meals I get my back into my living.
I don't need to fight To prove I'm right I don't need to be forgiven. yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Don't cry Don't raise your eye It's only teenage wasteland
Sally, take my hand We'll travel south cross land Put out the fire And don't look past my shoulder.
The exodus is here The happy ones are near Let's get together Before we get much older.
Teenage wasteland It's only teenage wasteland. Teenage wasteland Oh, yeah Its only teenage wasteland They're all wasted!Baba O'RileyBaba O'Riley", also erroneously referred to as its chorus refrain "Teenage Wasteland", is a song by the English rock band the Who and the opening track to their studio album Who's Next. It was issued in Europe as a single on 23 October 1971, coupled with "My Wife".
Roger Daltrey sings most of the song, with Pete Townshend singing the middle eight: "Don't cry/ don't raise your eye/ it's only teenage wasteland".
"Baba O'Riley" appears in Time magazine's "All-Time 100 Songs" list, Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll.
It also features on live albums: Who's Last, Live from Royal Albert Hall, Live from Toronto, and Greatest Hits Live. The original recording's violin solo is played on harmonica by Daltrey when performed live.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_O%27Riley

Joshua Eustis and Charles Cooper of Telefon Tel AvivTelefon Tel Aviv is a New Orleans–derived, Chicago-based American electronic music act, formerly comprising Charles Cooper and Joshua Eustis. Since Cooper's accidental death in 2009, Telefon Tel Aviv has continued with Eustis as the sole official member. Eustis is also known for being a member of the most recent lineup of Puscifer and Nine Inch Nails' live performances.HistoryTelefon Tel Aviv was formed in 1999 by Charles Cooper and Joshua Eustis, with their first album Fahrenheit Fair Enough, released in the fall of 2001 to positive reviews. In 2002, the group released an EP on the Hefty Records Immediate Action label. In 2004, the duo released their second full-length album, and a compilation album of remixes titled Remixes Compiled in 2007. The group released its third full-length album in January 2009 on the BPitch Control label. Immolate Yourself peaked at #17 on the Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart. In 2016, their debut was re-released with eight bonus tracks.Since 2011, Eustis has been working on new music. In March 2012, Eustis mentioned on his Twitter account that he was "trying" to work on new Telefon Tel Aviv material. In February 2013, Eustis was announced as a member of the touring lineup of Nine Inch Nails. He was originally slated to tour with band throughout 2013 and 2014. However, on December 5, 2013, it was revealed by Trent Reznor that Eustis was no longer part of the Nine Inch Nails touring line-up, citing only Alessandro Cortini, Ilan Rubin, Robin Finck, and himself as band members during an IAmA on Reddit. Eustis also confirmed this on the official Telefon Tel Aviv website.Death of Charles CooperOn January 22, 2009, Eustis announced on the group's MySpace blog that Charles Cooper had died. The information also appeared on the band's website: "Charles Wesley Cooper III / April 12, 1977 - January 22, 2009". Two CBS2 Chicago articles about Cooper's death specify that he went missing on January 21 before being found dead.
On January 30, 2009, Eustis posted on the group's MySpace blog that all tour plans have been cancelled and the future of the band is uncertain.
On March 22, 2009, Eustis posted on the group's MySpace blog that he will perform on stage with a close friend of the group, Fredo Nogueira.
On July 22, 2009, Eustis posted on the group's MySpace in order to clarify some rumours about Cooper's death, stating that three autopsy reports ruled it was not a suicide but possibly an accidental mix of sleeping pills and alcohol.Sons Of Magdalene and FutureOn December 9, 2013, Josh Eustis posted on the official Telefon Tel Aviv website that he was going back into the studio full-time, as he was no longer a touring member of Nine Inch Nails and presumably Puscifer as well. In the same post, Eustis stated that he has been sitting on a 95% finished full-length album under the moniker of Sons Of Magdalene, a name previously used for an EP released in 2008. Additionally, the post confirmed that after the record was finished, he would be working on Telefon Tel Aviv full-time. The debut album from the Sons of Magdelene moniker, Move to Pain, was released June 24.Telefon Tel Aviv/ Sons of Magdalene - Crows On The Eaves Of My Father's House (live in Moscow)Comment Pieter; This Moscow concert of Telefon Tel Aviv has a strong eighties New Wave and electro feel, without being retro, because it is a today sound and concert. But it has the sound and vibe of New Orders Blue Monday.

Although this is American electronic music it is close to the Central- and North-Western techno of Germans, Scandinavians, Dutch people and the British. It has the Central-European feeling of going out in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark (Copenhagen), Poland (Poznan, Krakow) during the eighties. I get flash backs of European discotheques of the eighties and nineties, and not from New York or LA. This American music comes very close to the Music of the German Cologne-based independent electronic music record label and vinyl/CD distributor, Kompakt.
Less harsh, straight and minimal then the Berlin techno label Tresor of the music they played in Tresor and Berghain. Berghain is a nightclub in Berlin, Germany. It is named after its location near the border between Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain in Berlin, and is a short walk from Berlin Ostbahnhof main line railway station. Philip Sherburne described Berghain in 2007 as "quite possibly the current world capital of techno, much as E-Werk or Tresor were in their respective heydays".
This techno has a more smooth and multi layered quality like some old good electro music and Synth pop groups.
Flash back of Polish beautiful Gothic girls in a nightclub in Kazimierz in Kraków.
Cheers, Pieter
