Hi Pieter,
thanks for posting. I used to like electronic music, but sometimes I find it too impersonal. If I have to work from home I feel that if I listen to electronic music it makes me even more isolated. I think electronic music may be perfect for some travel films or in the background

I always take my nano along on trips whenever I want to play Chopin:

That is a good description of your feeling, emotion and connection or disconnection towards electronic music. Maybe my fondness or connection towards electronic music has to do with art education, the art scene of Amsterdam, The Hague and Arnhem I was part of. Electronic music for a long time was Underground music befor it became more mainstream in Western-Europe (the Netherlands). I like the abstract character of it, that it has no lyrics (no songs mostly) and that you can sink or melt with it. You have many kinds, forms, stiles, genres and layers in electronic music. Form very bright, mellow, soft, relaxation -nearly therapeutic- Ambient and smoothe house to the darkest, fastests and coldest forms. I don't like for instance the commercial large mainstream top 40 house or techno, because it lacks musicality, the multi-layered music of the real artists of electronic music. I do not exclusivly listen to electronic music, because it can be addictive like drugs. I love instrumental music with lyrics, more melody, rythem and swing too. Love classical music, pop music, rock, rock'n roll, and some blues, jazz, soul and folk music too. As long as it is good made and has something special. I am not gifted with the gift of being able to play music. I don't. So I buy and listen to music I like. What is your taste in music Jaga?
Cheers, Pieter

In this piece of music, electronic music, jazz, a base line and a drum rythem session come together:

I used to listen to this type of music more often. I still love it. I will look and see if I can find some of my old favorites to share as well
