Cristian Vogel Cristian Vogel (born 1972) is an experimental electronic musician.BiographyVogel first began working with electronic compositions in the late 1980s with the Cabbage Head Collective, where he worked with Si Begg, among others. He attended the University of Sussex under the tutorship of Martin Butler (composer) and Jonathan Harvey (composer), graduating with a degree in 20th century music. He began to suffuse techno compositions with influences from musique concrète and other avant-garde styles.
In the early 1990s, Vogel issued two EPs on Dave Clarke's Magnetic North Records label, the first of which was the underground success, Infra. After further solo EPs and collaborations with emerging UK techno artists such as Neil Landstrumm and Dave Tarrida, Vogel released his debut full-length, Beginning to Understand, in 1994 on Mille Plateaux, and subsequently became the first UK techno artist to be signed to Berlin's Tresor Records. He also started the vinyl only label Mosquito with Si Begg, on which he released both his own music and other artists'.
Vogel is considered to be one of the main founders of the No-Future collective that was active in Brighton during the mid-nineties.
Alongside Jamie Lidell, he formed the group Super Collider, who released two albums before Jamie Lidell saw fame with his Warp Records album Multiply. Cristian Vogel also sings and plays guitar in his band project Night of the Brain, whilst continuing to maintain a presence on the underground techno scene.
From 2003 to 2010, he worked with the Swiss choreographer Gilles Jobin, composing electronic music scores for 6 of his contemporary dance pieces.
Over a 20-year career, Vogel has also worked as a remixer and album producer, having worked with artists such as Radiohead, Maxïmo Park, Chicks on Speed, and Thom Yorke.

Badass oldskool hard techno mix from NY techno legend Joey Beltram. In 1990, he released "Energy Flash", and to this day, it is regarded as one of the greatest techno tracks ever produced. This mix was released in '98/'99, and bangs hard. Insane tracklist, killer mixing.....true techno debauchery for your eardums!

Yet the common thread that runs through Craig’s broad musical canon and creative projects is a resounding fascination with futurism. Eddie FowlkesEddie Fowlkes is a techno DJ from Detroit, Michigan, influential to the early Detroit techno scene.BiographyAfter attending a 1978 Charivari party with his older sisters where he saw DJ Darryl Shannon mixing records, Fowlkes requested a mixer for Christmas and then made his DJ debut in the late 70s. He was part of Juan Atkins’ Deep Space DJ collective which included Art Payne, Keith Martin, and Derrick May who was also Fowlkes' roommate. In the 1980s, Fowlkes performed with three turntables, a mixer, wah-wah pedal and the 808 & 909 drum machines.
Kevin Saunderson said that seeing Fowlkes DJ at a fraternity party inspired him to get involved in the Deep Space Crew and become a better DJ.
After hearing a Cybotron performance, Fowlkes moved from being interested solely in DJing to creating his own records. Borrowing equipment from Atkins, he trained his ear and taught himself to play the keyboard over a couple of months. While Fowlkes and May were roommates, Fowlkes built his studio in his bedroom and started working on his first record. His first release under his own name was issued in 1986. That release on Metroplex Records, “Goodbye Kiss,” helped establish what would come to be known as Detroit Techno.
With the 1991 M.I.D release of Detroit Techno Soul, Fowlkes introduced the concept of Techno Soul because "Detroit... is both house heads and techno heads.” Then followed the 1993 Tresor release "The Birth Of Technosoul."
Eddie Fowlkes’ handprints are cemented on the Detroit Historical Museum’s “Legends Plaza” as a Techno Music Pioneer.
