Happy Thanksgiving for all members of the forum. I like this feast, athough we did not celebrate it in Poland. I like the openness of American people who welcome strangers to their houses in that day. Below is a greeting card from Ela

Hi Arlene, we are so glad to have you here! Nictoe, Thanks for your contribution Karl, I think you do not have the Thanksgiving in Mexico, what a pity! Thank you Jaga for your thoughtful thoughts... Of working in the foreign lands, I forget so often of these important event of holiday. Ours was first sunday of Oct. {Danksagung}. Mexico has a vast number of various holidays, but you are so right, not a Thanksgiven day. I think though, that my mind is becoming soft, for I am beginning to appreciate some of the Mexican people. They seem to have a natural kindness to them {relatively speaking} and a nature of mind that is gentle. But, some of what they eat....I am not so sure. For they appear to thrive upon the most hotttt, spices in their cooking. It makes the brow sweat just smelling the cooking from across the way from our dorm room. Yesterday, I sneaked out of our cage into the light of society to see actual living people. It was so nice. There is an out door market close by that is teaming with a great variety of fruits and vegetables. If not for the Spanish speaking, it was almost as of some of the out door markets of Turkisch in Hamburg. Exception of very little choice in fish. I do miss the North sea varieties though. Karl
