Yesterday I and a dozen of my American friends were watching "The Man of Marble". For them it was the first time. I had a short introduction since I knew that they may have problems to follow some of the history there which is so obvious for us Poles. When I was preparing this introduction, I realized that there is a link between "The Pianist" main hero - Szpilman and "The Man of Marble". Several communistic, optimistic songs from the film were created by Wladyslaw Szpilman
