This was precious of you, thank you...the Mus.gardensk url, my equipment will not pick up, but the remainder picked up very well and as such, recorded off with tape, thank you
With all my relocations over time, I have lost much of the recordings once I owned. But still have a cd re-recording of some of Marlene Dietrich, with exception of {Lilli Marlene}, but many others as of: Nimm dich in acht vor blonden Frauen/Wenn ich mir ' was wünschen dürfte and others.
I remember Vera Lynn by her voice, she was such a wonderful singer, simply do not remember at the moment her song names.
For Leslie: yes indeed, one song of yours {Its a long way to tipperary} we know very well. Even at present, I hear it from some of the stations.
We used to listion to British broadcasting stations on our battery radio at home. Perhaps nothing to most, but we as children enjoy the swing music of the big band people, it was simply wonderful!! My two cousins taught me to swing dance with them when I was age 10, they were more tall then my self, but then, who cared. To preserve the house, we placed the radio on the out side of the window, swept off a place out side, and we could swing dance with our mistakes with out breaking up the house and my aunts nerves.
The American Occupation Radio system was also fun to pick up. They broadcast some really good music..
From the land of Leslie: At present still in my possession, is some re-recorded records under label of :Monmouth-Evergreen: {Al Bowlly/Ray Noble}music of the mid 30s. Excellent dance and Liston music..
Thank you again for your sharing of music and memories
Charles
