Enjoy Estelle's photography, filmstills and poems. Estelle is a very dear friend of mine, an artist, poet, and she has studied philosophy at the university of Nijmegen. She has her own internet art magazine and organised exhebitions in the past, and had quite a few exhebitions herself.Personally I was never a big Poetry reader, more a proze (novel and essay) reader, but I love the fact that Estelle introduced me in the Duch poetic world. Like Polish the Duch language has a specific regional, historical meaning, and in my opinion is related to the area where the language is spoken. It has a atmosphere and mentality which is only understood by a very small part of the European population. Translatyions of Duch writers became popular in the ninetees, at the Frankfurter buchmesse. Most poetry is very earthly. You have to like that. Estelle's Duch poems have not that Duch localism some poets have, they describe a lonely Cosmopolitan life, the word The cities comes back several times, a condition humaine appears, a longing for a togetherness which was nearly there, but in the same time never there. It is a Solipsist world that wrestles with the empirical surface that even this person has or ever had. It is not typical Duch, because of the bigger world that seems to stands behind it, it could be in Russia, Polandor the USA, but also Paris in France. Pieter * Esther Apswoude (the redhead on the photo on the second link above here), Ivonne Zijp, Han Koppers, Rienk Toorman are close friends of mine, and I know Fernande de Korte, Jissel Kerkstra, Anand Mahabier (partner of Ivonne), Mark Manders (famous artist in Holland, but very humble person), Barbara Polderman, and Batia Suter (she was in my class when I studied at the Arnhem art academy) too. Ok, I am a barbarian of your East. But, I do enjoy/appreciate the art of our/your artist, for they bring out from our hidden sources of intellect, the essence of our work. They are our reflections of our selves, and as so, our blue print of advancement...Or am I so wrong?
With the Artist of that: Jaap Kroneman{ would I interprete his works as of this:
Man is confronted with the avenues of time/place/knowledge/wealth/his sex?/ und der down fall?
So, would so kind of your self, to describe?

Pieter....I signed up for a watercolor class starting next Tuesday. I just hope my instructor is one I will learn from. Chris Chris, In my perspective all kinds of art are imporant, and I am more aware of that since I started collaborating with the Art & Culture programm of my colleage Clarien van Harten, whom program is very special, because she has the gift of bringing over what she sees into presentation, and she sees no barrier between high art and low art. She goes to both Amateure art exhibitions and happenings and to higher forms of professional art like theatre, music, ballet, performances and exhibitions at schools and etc. From her I learned about the interesting bridge between amateur art & culture, semi-professional art & music and the professional art (the people who are full time artists and make a living of it like Jaap Kroneman and Barbara Wijnveld). Every wednesday we have the Art & culture program De Vitrine on Radio Arnhem, from 18.00 to 19.00 hours (Dutch/European time). I think it is good that you will start your watercolorclass, and hope that you will find a ballance between your autonomous authodidactical approach and the classical didactic approach of following your instructor like a pupil. Watercolor isn't easy, because of the working of color pigments, and the effects, perspective (you can make painting gestures with color to mark deepness, distance and so perspective), contrasts, and fades (in and out). There is a differance between Watercolor (US, Watercolour in the UK and " aquarelle" in French - we Dutch use the word aquarel derived from the french expression-) and Goache. Chris, you will find your own way in watercolor, goache or more like ecoline (fluent) and ink. You can do a lot with watercolor techniques, differant kind of papers (thickness and layers), brushes, watercolors (Talens, Winsor & Newton, Daler-Rowney, Daniel Smith, M. Graham and Schmincke Horadam). Most important, have great joy and an enjoyable experiance in your watercolor class.
