There was a girl who contacted me some time ago, she had an internet store with a Polish poster art but I guess... she had to close it down, too bad. You can read also about her here: Polish Poster Art from Allison CampbellĀ“s Collection culture.polishsite.us/articles/art20.html

Jaga,
Thank you for the information and link. I remember that when I lived in Amsterdam there was a special kiosk near the Leidsesquare which only sold Polish posters. Many posters of decades, with really good ones between them. Poland was famous in that time for it's Theatre and Movie adds. In the Museum of Modern art in Amsterdam Het Stedelijk Museum also had an exhibition with Polish poster art.

I reminds me of the style they use in the Cirque Soliel productions. We have an artist here in Rochester that also paints similarly. (Ramon Santiago) www.ramonsantiago.com I own one of his prints. Try it now Nancy....a little mispelling there and no www was added.

I too browsed through his works with pleasure. I think that 'the sunflowers' theme is a bit risky, after the overusage of van Goghs painting It is much the same with some paintings of Wyspianski, Nancy mentioned a while ago, some of his paintings reproductions were/are overused in Poland to the degree that noone can stand them anymore... Luckily some are not, as they are really excellent!

Another artist who is overused here is Monet - especially around the time a few years ago when there was a big exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. If I never see another water lily again, I will be happy!

If I never see another water lily again, I will be happy! Well I see one every night Nancy since that is my picture over my bed and main color scheme following. As for Ramon's photo's in your previous post. It is not on the website. I'll post it to webshots along with village photos when I get my first chance to scan photos for Jaga...and Jag I did see the "Village People" when they were in their height of fame at the disco I went to way back when................

I love the colors, just got tired of the theme . .. seemed like the exhibit was just one WL canvas after another. And then the gift shop had everything from soup to nuts "branded" with the image - it was a little much.
