We all have our movie loves. My mother absolutely loved Mario Lanza. Mario Lanza sings "If I Loved You" so beautifully and with such great tenderness. His voice is considered the best of our generation by millions of fans around the world. May this video help introduce him to future generations. The music and lyrics of "If I Loved You" are from the stage musical "Carousel" of 1945. It was adapted from Ferenc Molnár's 1909 play "Liliom", by Richard Rodgers who did the music and Oscar Hammerstein II who did the song lyrics. Mario Lanza & Kathryn Grayson sing "One Love of Mine," a song that was to be used in their 1949 picture "That Midnight Kiss," but was pulled from the final cut of the film.
