Today I watched a short film about Burzynski's in PolSat. Stanislaw Burzynski is a famous and controversial doctor who started treating people sick with cancer with his method. There was a controversy that he was doing it without approvals from the federal commitee, he had two processes, but he was aquitted partly because many people came to his defense! Now he is free to carry his investigations, although he can do limited promotions here is his website www.burzynskiresearch.com/and also the website about him from Wikipedia, very negative: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanis%C5%82aw_Burzy%C5%84ski

I had a short conversation with Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski on Saturday at the Houston Polish Festival. His strong Polish accent, my poor command of the Polish language combined with my strong Texas accent, humor and sarcasm made it a little hard to have a real productive conversation, but I did get him to laugh a few times and I really enjoyed talking to him again. He's a pretty interesting fellow. And Jaga, I got something from the good doctor just for you. It's on the way to Idaho right now. My wife put it in a box and mailed it to you this morning. She said she put something else in the box to take up the extra space, but I have no idea what it was and she's not likely to tell me. You haven't forgotten how to read Polish have you? ;D Here's a couple of photos I took.

James, wow! I wish I could talk to Burzynski. Thanks for thinking about me I was wondering how heavy his accent is... compared to mine. Do all Poles who came to the US as adults have such a heavy accent? This may be one of the obstacles for Burzynski to be recognized in the US medical community.

Actually, his accent isn't that bad, not near as strong as my mother's father after he had been in the US for 40 years. Burzynski is easy for me to understand in a quite room, but the loud music and other noise at the festival compounded the problem.
I don't think his ethnicity or accent has anything to do with Dr. Burzynski not being recognized by the medical community. At least half the doctors at the Houston medical center have heavy foreign accents of one type or another and some of them barely speak English. I don't have any personal knowledge about his situation, but I suspect that the rather closed minded medical establishment doesn't like people like Burzynski who buck the system and march to a different drummer. Just my opinion.
