Another way to cook that Christmas Dinner would be to place it on the feed horn of an Air Search Radar and put the gear in radiate. Fast, easy and no mess.

Jeepers Bob It has been some time since exposure to this type of subject. But, perhaps a nice fat turkey would do well if as you have demonstrated, exposure to such an electronic device as such a radar system generally used in ground aviation. If memory surfices to some degree, are not these things operating in the RF field range of 10 GHz? Perhaps I am off some what, for it has been some time for memory to catch up.. If my self to be wrong, I am always open to correction. For otherwise, how is one to learn? Karl

Karl mein freund, It has been a very long while since I worked on any radar equipment and I specialized in communications equipment but that did not stop me from lending a helping hand now and then. 10 Ghz sounds about correct and the range went up to the light wave spectrum. The air search radar we had in Rota, Spain was a real monster and the output power was a little over 1 megawatts. We could track plane departures and arrivals al over North Africa. The Feed Horn on that radar could completely cook a 20 lb. Turkey in about 15 to 20 seconds. Of course the skin was not the nice brown color that you got when the bird was baked in a regular oven but, the inside was well cooked.
