J.J.
A very buitiful photo of spring cherry trees in full blumm. Some many years in pas as of a memory of my first posting was in Pretoria South Africa. The area of the city we worked was Embassy Row. As a gift from Japan, was enough cherry trees to line the very length of the street. In the spring,it was so buitiful and fragrant from the tree blossoms as to almost be over powering.

Karl Karl, You should go to Washington, DC in April for the blossoming of cherry trees around the reflecting pool. It is spectacular. But, you will have to put up with very rude Japanese visitors. havecamerawilltravel.com/cherry-blossoms/best-time-visit-see-cherry-blossoms/

Dan Wallrath; Homebuilding HeroBy Lynda Brasier February 6, 2015 Dan Wallrath was just a regular guy, a home builder living in Texas with his wife Carol, until he finally found his true calling; it was then that Dan became a real life hero. Although it was later in life when Dan first helped renovate a home for a wounded, and disabled, Marine; and after remodeling that first home, he felt called to do more. All around him were stories of disabled veterans who found it difficult to live in housing that was not designed for their needs. It was clear that these men were not getting the support they needed from the government who put them in the situation in the first place, so Wallrath started a nonprofit organization called ‘Operation Finally Home’. Not only does he build new custom homes, or remodel existing ones for vets, but the home is then given to the vet and his family – mortgage free! Wallrath is an Air Force veteran who is intimately familiar with the sacrifices our men and women make while serving in the Military, and the lack of support they get when they come home, and he may not have felt he could solve the whole problem, but he knew he could do SOMETHING. When he started this project it was relatively small. Now, he is finding many who are donating their time, products, money and talent to bring much needed help to these vets. He and his team were recently featured on the TV show, ‘Extreme Makeover,’ with Ty Pennington and Kid Rock. RealGoodNews would like to slaute Wallrath and his team for all their vision and efforts. Wallrath says only that, “I wish we could save everyone. So we save as many as we can.” Wallrath and his story just go to show how much difference one person can make, and that is certainly RealGoodNews!

Even in a very dangerous situation and a very dangerous place, humanity pokes its head out and prevails.Rikers Inmates Stop Prisoner From Raping Guard In Heroic RescueRikers Island inmates helped rescue a female prison guard before she was raped by a convicted sex criminal on Saturday, according to a report by the New York Daily News. From the Daily News: The inmates helped responding correction officers frantically tear away Plexiglas on the outside of the bubble-like watch post inside the Anna M. Kross Center at 8:15 p.m., according to multiple sources. A skinny inmate slipped inside the so-called “A station” bubble through the small crack and opened the security door. A team of inmates then took down the assailant, Raleek Young, 27, until other officers arrived. Young pulled down his pants and started choking the guard while he masturbated, court documents said. The 290 pound inmate is serving a 5-to-10-year sentence for raping a 13-year-old. Multiple sources told the Daily News that Young entered the watch post after he claimed he needed to get a mattress in another room and had to go through the post to get it. Correction Officers Benevolent Association President Norman Seabrook confirmed the attack took place and that prisoners helped stop it. Young faces attempted rape, sexual abuse and other charges.

Floor van TilThe four year old Floor van Til from the Dutch town of Putten fights against cancer. Her parents want to take her to the United States of America to get a special surgery for her cure there. They started a Facebook social media campaign to fund her operation. She has had a lot of chemo therapy in her young life for her bones, Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and etc. Floor with her dadFloor with her mom in the snowIn december 2014 Floor's familymembers were shocked when Floor was dianosed with Neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that often targets children. If Floor's body reacts well to all treatments in the Netherlands, she can qualify for a follow-up treatment in America. This treatment takes place at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. This is a big hospital where much expertise is available in fields of neuroblastomas and childcancer. The treatment takes about half a year. The immunotherapy is very heavy, so it would be good if the family goes through this process together in order to be able to support each other, and as much as possible with the patient. The total treatment consists of six courses in which combinations of different medications are administered. Foundation Floor for Life For the travel to the USA adn the stay there of the family a lot of money is needed. The Foundation Floor collects money so that (hopefully) Floor can stay for half a year in Philadelphia in the United States with her dad, mother, brother and sister. The only place where she can be cured from neuroblastomas. www.facebook.com/floorforlifeDonate now, this message reeds!

We have to start showing and experiencing the positive aspects of life instead of the negative.

Yeah, and these little children with cancer are something very positive depsite their illness. I have worked in a hospital, and saw how strong, loving life and smart these kids were. Because they sometimes had little time left, they were different than ohter kids inb their age. But boy what a lovely kids they were. I often had to take pictures for the communication (Public Relations department) of the hospital in the youth wing of the hospital. I sometimes was emotionally moved, because I couldn't stand the sight of little children suffering. But it was part of my work. I loved the work of for instance the Cliniclowns, Ronald McDondald and for instance the soccer players of Vitesse who went to the hospital to meet the sick children, who were sometimes their fans.
This is the childrenn department in the hospital I worked in from 2001 until 2006

The nagative are unfortunately part of our life too. But as local media we give a lot of attention to positive and optimistic local human initiatives, human interest subjects and good achievements next to our critical following of local politicians, the economy, health care, educatio, cut backs and other problems.
There are so much positive, hopefull, energy generating and beautiful things in life. Yesterday I visited and filmed an alzheimer home in a former castle. That was a postive thing too. How beautiful these care takers and nurses worked with their patients and tried to get attention for and create awareness of the desease.

Pieter
I just hate to see these poor little tigers with such deseases, for it just breaks my heart. These children have their entire lives in front of them and they are such little sweethearts to have such a terrible desease.
It was good of you to present the various photos of such hart breakers with such smiles as to melt an iceberg.
I do wish for them each, a return to health with the best of care and soon to forget the past when they were sick
Thank you for presenting..
Karl
