Wim Kok honoured by PolandThe former prime minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Wim Kok was honoured with the Commander’s Cross with Star of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. The decoration ceremony took place in the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in The Hague on May 26, 2015. The Order, conferred by the President of Poland on Mr. Wim Kok for his outstanding merits in the field of developing Polish-Dutch relations and supporting democratic transformation in Poland, was awarded by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in The Hague dr Jan Borkowski. The Polish ambassador in The Hague In the 1980s Wim Kok was supporting the activity of ‘Solidarity’ union. Thanks to his assistance the ‘Solidarity’ office in the Netherlands gained its premises in Amsterdam.
