First Winter Storm of Season To Bring Several Inches of Snow to N.H. The first measurable snow of the winter season is expected to arrive in the Granite State Tuesday AM. Snow will begin falling in southern New Hampshire by daybreak, and will spread northward into the early morning hours. Steve Lavoie with Hometown Forecast says southern New Hampshire will see the snow transition to a wintry mix and eventually all rain, while northern parts of the state will see mostly snow. “What we’re looking at is 2-6 inches in the southern area, from say Laconia to the south. Obviously the highest amounts are closer to Laconia. Once you head north, you’ll see more snow, maybe a little bit of mix in the Lakes Region. We’re talking more in the lines of 4-8 inches.” The storm is expected to come to an end by Tuesday evening. Our area is expected to get 4 to 6" of snow. I hate to see our fall weather go away

The weather got colder even here in Texas where we are for Xmas. Finally the temperature is not in 70 or even 80s. We had icy rain yesterday. It was sad to hear that 11 people died in northern Texas.

Dear J.J. and Jaga
I am not so sure to say this, but out weather in comparison is in the day time of in 70sF with nights in the 40sF. But so in the mountains, for with the altitude, comes cold and snow.
I think this year will be good for the various resorts with winter sports in skiing and winter play.
This is when I do miss my long past aircooled VW, it was fun to drive in the snow with those things. Just the heaters were not so good, for whilst pulling long steep grades, the heater would cook your left foot and threaten to roast you alive, then on the down side of a pass with little to no throttle, you simply would freeze.
The dangerious situation with the rear engine auto such as VW. They were dangerious in times of required chain up on mountain passes. For they had a tendency to travel straight with the driver gritting his/her teeth to make a turn at any speed. It was best to have winter tyre treads or simply good street tyres.
