Pieter,
I looked at this Wikipedia article and it is really nice and the photographs are just wonderful. I wonder how the internet would look in 50 years!!! Maybe we would not need any books anymore!

Jaga, I thought the same thing, there are so much nice articles and images on the net. But from the other hand I stil like my art and history books, because it is more exhausting to read everything from your screen, when you can read a book in your easy chair or bed (in the evening or in the morning). Nice topic Here are some important sources for Polish medieval history: kpbc.umk.pl/dlibra/publication?id=9073&from=&dirids=1&tab=1 - Monumenta Poloniae Historica- Pomniki Dziejowe Polski - Historical Monuments of Poland. There is no need to know Polish, almost all sources are written in Latin. There is also a new edition- Monumenta.... Series Nova, but it is not on the Internet.

one area I am curious about that seems to be completely left out of western history books is teh Polski Spisz or Polish Spis. Part of my family comes from the Slovak Spis along the Polis border alnog the Poprad river & (former) Hungarian county of Saris.
The most prosperous time for the Spis came when the Spis towns were pawned to Poland to fund the Hungarian war with Venice. Yet there is nothing to tell about this time.
Can anyone identify any sources out there? I can do fine with English or German, but would be happy to learn that there are Polish sources as well!
By the way "oldpolish', that is an interesting link you provided. It will be interesting to continue to explore the site & see what I can decipher form the Polish. Thanks.
Kai
