Pieter
This is not so crazy, for this could be an actual event. Take for instance the American Indians when first exposed to small pox? They fell like trees in a high wind, for their bodies had never been exposed to such a disease with out the immunity of generations of exposure.
Now take the present generation of humans world wide, and for instance, a new mutation of virus is then released from where ever in to the air. Then through the normal forces of natural air currants and weather releases of rain wash both in to the soil for propagation to then mutate for proper survival from forces of sun light, heat and cold.
Mean while, humans not having previous exposure to such a virus, would become sickened at a rate that would be detrimental to continued population rates. Then through the process of natural weather forces such as prevailing wind currants and rain fall such as with nuclear radiation exposure, it could be global wide.
Perhaps as of above, the global masters would then fall to cockroaches or such.

Pieter, interesting video with valid questions, sad....
Karl, referring to the virus, for me meeting another civilization is the biggest danger of getting some strange viruses or bacteria for which we have no immunity.

If all humans disappeared .. and all books were lost...
But in 500 years a new civilization could start, and new gods and religions founded. But the sciences that we enjoy and utilize today would be re-constituted as they are today, because the laws of nature, physics, chemistry and science, will not have changed.

Kai,
You are absolutely right in my opinion. Humanity is vulnerable. But if it disappeared in the cause of thousands of years new spiecies would emerge with similar ideas and civilizations.
Cheers, Pieter
