Who was Emilia Plater? When did she live, what did she do?
Which other historical figure she can be compared with? (in France)

Jaga, I'll bite - can you compare her to Joan of Arc? She joined the army and even lead a Lithuanian Unit during the November Uprising. So she must have lived in the 1800's.

Holly, yes, I think we can compare her to Joan of Arc. Both were young, patriots, devoted to their countries. Both died young. Emilia also compared herself to Joan the Arc. By the way, the other interesting military heroic figure of Lithuanian woman was created by Mickiewicz in a drama "Grazyna". But Emilia Plater was real, Grazyna was invented...
