Folks,
A friend of mine whom is a professional Artist (3D sculptures) and has international experience (The UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, China, USA, United Arab Emirates, Gaza, Democratic Republic of Congo and Italy) wrote this about the USA πΊπΈ on Facebook;
β I often tend to feel like a poor immigrant-worker here in the US. I'm shocked by the prices. In particular food, drinks and eating out has become insanely expensive here. Let alone rents, hotels, etcetera. Last summer I worked in Watou, Belgium, where they brew Bernardus-beer. For 4 euro's/dollars you could easily drink a bottle.. In the US you pay sometimes 15 euro's/dollars... Eating something simple like a pizza will cost you 17 to 20 dollars/euro's. In Los Angeles an espresso will cost you standard more than 4 dollars/euro's. Plain croissant, almost 5 dollars. So if you are planning to go to the US, take that in account...β
Work;
Rob Voerman (born May 6, 1966, Deventer) is a Dutch graphic artist, sculptor and installation artist. His works generally show futuristic architectural constructions in a post-apocalyptic world full of destruction, explosions and the remains of conflict and catastrophe.
Collections (selection)
Rob Voerman's work is displayed in numerous public collections, including the:
- Museum of Modern Art, New York City
- Generali Foundation, Vienna
- KKR Office Collection, New York City
- Speyer Family Collection, New York City
- Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam
- UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles
- Coda Museum, Apeldoorn
- Valkhof Museum, Nijmegen
- Dutch state-owned bank ABN AMRO
- Deutsche Bank, Germany
- Dutch consultancy and engineering company Arcadis
I (Pieter) have a great respect for Rob Voerman and like his work in the sense that I find it interesting, relevant voor Contemporary (Modern) Art (Fine Art), and consider him one of the best Dutch artists and probably belonging to the top of European Contemperary Art (Modern Art/Fine Art) of the 21th century and 2022-β¦. .
