A view of the currant upgraded Russian TU-95 heavy bomber. These machines are powered by normal turbo-jet engines to double counter rotating propellers. This example is a currant uprated machine with the size compared to the displayed ground crew whilst at rest with the engines on idle.
The name bear is given by NATO as a designated code name for this particular machine and not a Russian name.
It may be noted on a side view of wing slates, these are designed to counter wing wash under certain conditions as loss of lift common on such swept wing designs as of the past Mig 15 and 17 designs of the past.

Interesting comparison of these two very capable machines of different designs from two different design philosophies. But each extremely capable machines designed and built for their applications designed into them as weapons.
It is noteworthy of the American designers to use black as a colour over the Russian preference of blue.
