These are the worst floods in Years. They are caused by rising waters in Ural mountains and they also reach Kazakhstan. www.cbsnews.com/news/russia-flooding-urals-siberia-mountain-snow-ice-melting-evacuations/Flooding across Russia's west from melting mountain snow and ice forces mass evacuationsMoscow — Warm spring temperatures have unleashed torrents on parts of western Russia, where thawing ice and melting mountain snow are swelling some of Europe's biggest rivers and inundating towns and cities along their paths. The southwest Russian city of Orenburg, near the Kazakh border, was bracing for its worst flooding in decades, while to the north, the entire region of Tyumen in western Siberia was put under a state of emergency as the flood risk mounted. Officials have evacuated thousands of residents from homes along fast-rising rivers in the Urals and western Siberia. Moscow declared a federal emergency Sunday amid the flooding in the Orenburg region, where the Ural river left much of the city of Orsk covered in water, forcing thousands to leave their homes.

It is the time of year for such warming, but too much is just too much, mother nature has her good side but as shown, her bad side. Hopefully the summer will be normal for these poor people.

Karl, this was the biggest flood for many years. Lets hope that these people would get sufficient help. Maybe they need to build a better water flood security system there? At least European news picked up on that.

NOS News today, 6:52 PMExpected rain will cause more problems in Russian disaster areaThe governor of Russia's Kurgan region has called on residents to immediately leave flooded areas in the southwestern part of the country. A lot of rain is expected and this is expected to worsen the situation in the disaster area, reports Reuters news agency.
The night from Sunday to Monday will be especially difficult, Governor Shumkov expects. The water in the Tobol River has been rising for days. Shumkov warns that the situation can quickly deteriorate at night and that residents could be surprised in their sleep.
On Telegram he writes that people should leave before the sun sets. “Gather your families, documents and valuables and leave.” More than 14,000 houses are flooded in the affected area. Bodies recovered
Southwestern Russia and northwestern Kazakhstan have been experiencing heavy flooding for more than a week. High temperatures have caused snow and ice to melt rapidly, causing the Ural and other rivers and streams to overflow their banks in many places.
After heavy rainfall, a dam broke near the city of Orsk last week. According to state media, overdue maintenance is the cause. Hundreds of thousands of people have now been evacuated in Russia and Kazakhstan.
There are also major problems in Kazakhstan. A thousand houses were flooded in the city of Petropavlovsk on Sunday. About 4,500 people were evacuated. The bodies of two men who went missing this month in floods in the town of Kulsary have been found in the Atyrau region.
