Dear all, I am so sorry that I was not more active today in the forum or writing any e-mails, but preparing the newsletter cost always a couple of hours of my precious time. Here is a part from the newsletter: During this season many of you ask WHERE TO BUY POLISH CAROLS (KOLENDY) People are buying Christmas music through our links – which is very good but also a bit FRUSTRATING! I will tell you why…. Two years ago during Christmas season – dozens of people (somewhere close to a hundred) bought CDs with Polish Christmas music from Amazon (from our link). So many people bought it that… last year Amazon did not have any Polish carols available for sale. I looked around and found another store - CDBABY – then many people bough CDs with Polish carols from this store and they also did not have anymore in stock! Luckily, it seems that this store acted faster than Amazon. I just checked today, Polish-American carols are available again from there: POLISH-AMERICAN CHRISTMAS CAROLS www.cdbaby.com/cd/rsdw/from/jagaFor less than 13 dollars. You can also listen to parts of the carols on their website CHRISTMAS AT ST.STANISLAUS CHURCH is available AGAIN in Amazon under: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005ATXH/polishculture-20If you are looking for a wide selection of Polish carols you should check: POLART STORE www.polandbymail.com/A broad selection of carols offered by this store is also available from our Christmas Store: culture.polishsite.us/articles/art125.html

Now don't you wish you had more problems like that, Jaga?
Good work!

Holly, if people buy something through amazon from my link I get a percentage of their price, but this is really very little, in the average less than a dollar per one purchase. So usually 150 people had to buy for 100 dollars which is very rarely a case for three months except Christmas season, not this year since our site is new (Amazon pays onces per three month period). Still, if you have a competitive strick it is excting to check your sales Originally when I signed to Bella - old Bella managers were promising to pay some money to the hosts and they did pay some very little money - really something like 5-15 dollars per month in the beginning for mabe 3 months - then Bella bankrupted... I came to Bella when Ela was three months old and I did not work outside of the house. I thought that I have enough experience to host a subject about Poland and the hope that I can just live from Bella money was then a part of my motivation. The truth is - I do have some benefits from having the site - since some publishers send me some free books or free samples, but the money are really insignificant. During my one working day I earn much more than for three months of amazon ads, not that I earn that much but I would have to sell through amazon not books but electronic equipment to have any significant income.

Jaga might get a couple of free samples through the Polish Culture website, but she also pays $$$ for the webspace. She is giving me a free ride for one year! It would be nice if the site could at least pay for itself, that will happen only through Google ads and Amazon clicks. So please feel free to shop through the Polish Culture site! www.culture.polishsite.us ;D

I am just wondering how this works.... If I go to Amazon through the Polsite link and end up buying the item you mentioned you get a percentage (although a small percentage) - what happens if I do not buy that particular item but purchase something else instead? I still went to Amazon through your link - do you still get the kickback?

I wish all of us were rich!

This is something I have always wondered about when I saw the Amazon links on sites. But how do you support this site? I doesn't seem fair for you to be soley responsible for the whole thing! We all play here after all!

But how do you support this site? I doesn't seem fair for you to be soley responsible for the whole thing! We all play here after all! This forum site is free, I think Proboards supports it through the google ads you see at the top of the screen (they will obligingly remove the ads if an individual pays a subscription fee). It seems to work the same as Webshots, which flashes ads at you unless you are a premium member. It is the Polish Culture website with all the articles for which Jaga is paying. PS. I made a quick trip to the shopping mall today - there is a store called Hollister, with T-shirts etc. imprinted with your name!
