;D Happy "Three Kings Day" everyone. Tomorrow/or Friday evening I will be watching the festivities on TV from Spain. When I lived in Michigan, this was called "Little Christmas". ;D

In Poland people draw with the chalk on their doors:
K+M+B
Jim, thanks for the update - this is the official end of the Christmas season in the USA!

Jaga,
Yes, it is the end for many of us in the USA. However, many have their trees down on the 26th of December. I also draw the KMB initials with chalk above the doors.

;D Jim and Jaga. Thanks for the info on the K M B initials. This is something I did not know but now this will be added to my Three Kings Day. The Christmas Tree inside my house was taken down the day after Christmas but the lights outside remained and stayed lit tonight. I did have an Evergreen outside that still had lights and the Creche remained in place until tomorrow morning. My wife's Three Kings Day present came in and was set up for her. She received a new sofa, side tables and coffee table. She always wanted this and left more than a few hints around. ;D

When I was young in Pennsylvania, the priest would bless the house, check the family info for consistency with church records and put the K+M+B YR on the doorway. As I recall it was called Kolenda (SP)?

In Poland no-one seems to know when to take Christmas trees down - they often stay up until the end of January or when the trees start looking bad ... it's anarchy! We run a mainly English house (to keep the kids in touch with their English half) and the tree and decorations come down on Twelfth Night.
