Well, it may be difficult, but at least it's not a Spenard Divorce, eh kaima? The law needs to be more flexible, especially where violence occurs. This should have no tolerance whatsoever, anywhere. kaima, And here I thought you'd be impressed that I knew what a Spenard Divorce was...

My apologies, Piwo, for not noticing that short and quick comment! Yes, I am impressed. Either you have a scar or two and a lot of luck or you have been to Anchorage! That is a localism that I never expected from "outside". We had an opera company come up here who picked up on Spenard & they changed one line of the opera to "Oh, Spenardo..." and received a great ovation. The story is that Anchorage was a young, small town & voted itself dry. Joe Spenard opened a bar just outside city limits and eventually a red light district grew up around his establishment. It is now a working class neighborhood but it has civic minded ladies who walk some streets to assure free enterprise continues to thrive. How is that for a string of euphemisms?

Oh, how I still long for those omelette's at Gwennies! I was fortunate to have traveled to Anchorage on 5 occasions on business. Was there for Fur Rondy (I was there 11 days that year trip), met and chatted with Libby Riddle for awhile, watched the 3 day World Championship dog race (3 25 mile sprints), got hot coffee from the Espresso John trucks... man, that was a great trip! Thank the almighty for inefficient pubic utilities and a bad circuit ! ;D Was there on the longest day of the year one trip as well. Talk about strange walking out of a pub in the wee hours of the morning, to have sunshine! A magic piece of real estate to be sure. One of my contacts at the bank I was servicing had a plane, and one year I brought my mom with me, who always wanted to go to Alaska. I took her, and the three of us had a "piper cub" trip around glaciers, lakes, scouting for moose.... Oh, and eggs Benedict at Captain Cooks hotel...... Love that place!
