Carl, I'm almost positive you're familiar with this site www.radiolovers.com/I love radio myself BTW. One can do so much while listening to the radio compared to being stuck in front of a screen be it TV or computer. Forza

I remember those Old Time radio shows and they were indeed "The Theater of th Imagination". Our imaginations can paint a better picture than a TV tube can. BTW, The Inner Sanctum was one of my favorites too. During the day there were the "Soap Operas" for the women and the day began with Don Mcneils "Breakfast Club" from Chicago. Many radio stations are going to the XFM format and the stations that are on the radio mostly play the same type of music every day and every hour. One day a station will start rebroadcasting some of thos old radio programs and gain a large audience, the sooner the better.

Bob, what are your favorite old time radio shows? Carl I think I liked them all, but, here is my list: The Lone Ranger Jack Armstrong (the all American boy) Fibber Magee & Molly Kate Smith Hour Fred Allen Inner Sanctum Grand Central Station The Shadow Sgt. Preston of the Yukon Roy Rogers (and Penny) Mayor of the Town Archie Andrews The Green Lantern (I think ) One Man's Family Don Mcneil's (Breakfast Club) Then there are the names of those that i can't remember except for some quips; "Wave Your Magic Wand Froggy and I'm Buster Brown, I live in a Shoe , Look For My Dog, He Lives In There Too." Then there was the guy who read the Sunday Comic Section of the newspaper. I also remember: Gasoline Alley The Katzanjamer Kids Maggie and Jigs Lil Orphan Annie Red Ryder Nancy Prince Valiant Dick Tracy And for the people from Michigan and those living in Michigan; I remember! Mort Neff from "Michigan Outdoors". Sponsered by "Altas Beer". ;D There are a lot more programs that I could recall but my memory is growing dim and all those things happened a very long time ago Carl.

OK Carl, here are a couple of more that I remember and wish were back. Big Town (with Lorelie Kilbourne and Harry the Hack) Sam Spade Mr. Malone The Fat Man Boston Blackie Kittie Keene Lux Radio Theater Mr. Keene (Tracer of Lost Persons) Wow! that's really showing my age but the younger generation does not know what they missed and we of the "older generation" know that TV has nothing to compare with these radio favorites. I do not care what "special effects" are used in movies or on TV: the special effects of the mind are so much better. ;D
