rdywenur,
And what does this have to do with Polish currency getting very strong. Yes, your aunt may have been getting stronger, and you may, if you bike around, but again, what does this have to do with Polish currency getting very strong?

Pretty sure she was responding to these posts - her post just flipped over to a new page - but it is simple enough to scroll back for context. Americans shop more than Europeans, they have bigger houses, drive usually bigger cars. I believe in Pawian's statistics because I lived in Europe. This is not China, it`s Amsterdam, Holland, one of the richest in Europe We knew that bicycles were used in Amsterdam but we had no idea to what extent. Bikes outnumber cars at least 20 to 1. This is a very common sight in Amsterdam.Italy and this Yes, Pawian, it is obvious that Americans have more cars and drive more than Europeans, but the size of the US has something to do with that. EVERYTHING here distance-wise is on a grander scale and that scenario has led to the necessity of more cars and more driving. And let's not paint all Americans with same same paintbrush. There is still here a generation (rapidly disappearing now) that lived through the Great Depression and retain the lessons in frugality learned during that time. And let me just say that I, though able to, possess neither a dishwasher nor a microwave oven. I pride myself on purchasing only what I absolutely need and have taught these values to my children as well.

To each his own, but to try and ride a bike in the winter, can not be done, if I wanted to.

rdywenur, And what does this have to do with Polish currency getting very strong. Bravo.. I am the culprit here. Well, sort of. I bristled at a comment in a post that as I re-read the post later, would have pulled my comment. Not that my premise has changed in lieu of anything stated here since, but since to continue this portion of the thread would continue a hijack, I'll not respond to any of it. You are correct. It has nothing to do with the Polish currency getting stronger. Good for the PLN. If it continues I may have to visit the Czech Republic instead!

Bravo.. I am the culprit here. Well, sort of. That`s good you are able to admit your shortcomings. Yes, people can get nasty at times. They write nonsense and think you will believe it. Good. One needs to have fixed views, no matter what others think.
