Very strange statue is discussed in Poland now. Women will be paid less retirement money since they are statistically living longer than men for 5 years! They are already paid on the average 35% less money than men!
I found this completely absurd. This may lead to such a dissapointment and women may not have enough financial means to have a good life and.... they may start living storter.
But men would have enough for vodka....
I am very troubled by this!

This will probably never change till mens attitudes towards woman change. Is it fair that two people one male one female, doing the identical job, and both doing it equally the same, should not get paid equally...I think not. And aside from that point of view.......in todays world more woman must work and support a family alone as they have either divorced or the guy split leaving woman without support of the family. It goes along also if a woman reacts as the male does she is considered a b-i-t-c-h and the guy gets a pat on the back.

Chris, I agree that this is very strange. I found the article in Polish about it, but not in English: www.gazetawyborcza.pl/1,75968,4762809.html Tusk jest mê¿czyzn¹

Jaga,
Women live longer, all over the world, since they drive the men to a early grave. And, you know what, I have heard of women drinking vodka. Most women don't get heart attacks, they cause them. Don't get all upset, this could be just a joke.

Jaga, Be greatful that U.S. Social Security payments are based on earnings prior to retirement and now Americans may continue to work after electing to receive benefits without a reduction of their benefit. This is really the best change in Soc. Sec. law. Personallly. I think the law was changed in order to get more money into the Soc. Sec. fund rather then any effort on governments part to help aging Americans. If what you say is true about women's retirement benefits in Poland then it's time you considered a return to the homeland to organize the elderly women to protest this absurb outrage. They need a strong educated woman like yourself to lead them out of the morass they find themselves in.

freetobe,
My note was sent to Jaga, so I don't care what you do, if you do, think. Now don't get upset. This is a joke to you, now.

Mike, I am OK with your joke that women drive men to the grave although the statistics tells a different story. Married men live longer than single men and the widowers also usually die very soon

Mike, No doubt about where you're coming from. Can't waste time with a Hoosier redneck, so take your "ugly american" views and send them to Bill O'Rielly along with the low life jokes.

FTB, You might want to lighten up a bit. Just a suggestion..... You might not appreciate Michaels views and opinions, but if everyone in this forum thought the same what would be the point??? If you (or I) don't like the way a conversation is going, we can just politely bow out. Michael has strong convictions and some of us can appreciate that. I don't think he has been any more disrespectful than some others. Shall we march in lock-step? Or exercise our rights of free speech and defend that right to ALL?Mary

Mary, you husband is do dependent on you that .... at least you are sure he would never leave you By the way, I also think, it is good that in the forum people have different opinions. Being a woman, it bothers me that women in Poland would be paid less as a punishment that statistically they live longer!
