Despite what the Americans think....... Polish troops ready to withdraw from Iraq 25.03.2008 The end of March marks the end of preparations for the withdrawal of Polish troops from Iraq – Polish defense minister Bogdan Klich has said. At the beginning of April Poles will hand over some of their equipment to the Iraqis. The crucial time will come in June and July when Poland will hand responsibility for their zone over to the Iraqi side. In September, the remaining equipment will be transported to Poland. After October 31 no single Polish soldier will remain in Iraq, minister Klich said. Bully for Poland!

The Polish are smart, this for sure...We are not so smart. We of this date are still fielding troops and air-equipment in Northern Afghanistan, another hell hole of a toilet.
Not so sure at moment, but the count was of 6 Tornado fighter reconnaissance aircraft of {Aufklärungsgeschwader 51}{IPA} based in Mazar-i-Sharif.
It would be good to retrieve this equipment out with all of our people intact.

Charles, The Poles are only withdrawing from Iraq - they are actually increasing troops in Afghanistan. In fact they are responsible for Ghazni province security now (or soon will be). The withdrawl from Iraq was one of Tusk's election promises.
