My mom was born there and I have one aunt who still is there and a cousin. They recently celebrated 800 year jubilation. My aunt from Czechowice sent me the book (all written in Polish with very few photos but good ones) So I can't tell you about the book. (but I had to have it as it might be usful somewhere down the road for me) Also a smaller booklet just loaded with photos of this church. www.panorama-miast.com.pl/97/html/spytkowiceang.htmHere is the url to scanned booklet: (just click on the image)

(Malta is in Poland...you moved the boundary lines again???) aha ... trusting the label on an internet search can prove to be fatal, as it is in this case. Ordinary fireworks will not do for such a special occcasion, so I searched for 'polish fireworks' and that comes from a Polish link, I believe! So the Poles do know where to winter ... Kai the Gullible PS. Get some sleep and let my illusion of humor stick a few hours!

Chris It will be interesting if perhaps you are able to scan/display the photos you wish to share... I think it is interesting in light of your family history and the village {generalization} your mother is from. I would imagine very well that she would have some very interesting stories of her childhood.. As being a curious person. I was curious of this location and found a bit in the following url. It is another persons experience, but information is information no matter the source.... www.john.rys.name/geography.htmCharles

Thanks Charles I have visited that site before. there is not much at all out there of this city/village/town?. In the mean time I have modified my post to lead to the scanned booklet. But unfortunately it is written in all Polish. (maybe a translator might volunteer services ;D)

Hi Chris,
interesting booklet. I looked through it. Spytkowice are old, but the church which is on the cover is a typical baroque type of church from the XVII century. So, it is not that old. But the Madonna there is also one of the holy pictures.
I remember hearing about Spytkowice but I am not sure I ever was there although this is not very far from Krakow, since it is somewhere in Wadowice county.
