Pieter, How about just older Polish music? Not punk/rock. My years are showing. And youtube takes to long to download at my location. Jim Jim, I am from another generation than you are, and grew up with pop-music, all kind of stiles of it, disco, soul, rythm 'n blues, rock 'n roll, jazz, folk music, classical music, and in my teenage years with new wave, hard rock, punk, rock and all kind of electronic dance music and stiles. It's just my age, that I don't know older Polish music, more traditional kind of stiles. My mother lived in Holland for more than half or her life, and she did not have the Polish music, media and was not particular fond of Polish music per se, because I grew in a pretty much Dutch and international household. My parents are oriented on the French culture and British one too. So I grew up with a lot of Belgian and French television, French music, movies and British detectives and comedy. Polish culture, music and language was unfortunately a far distance thing. In the ninetees I tried to learn Polish, and in the beginning of this century I went back to Poland twice. I find it great that you had the guts to go back to Poland, and start your Polish dream. I hope that you can find the Polish music you like on Polish radio, television, in the record store and on internet. I will start another topic for you with older Polish music. I think the music in this threat is a subjective taste from me, and also the subjective taste of Wojtek and others. Wojtek and I found eachother in some of the music we liked and the history of Polish and Yugoslavian Underground music. Thank you for responding Jim. Pieter

Let's not overlook Ani Lorak The "form" of the clip and the exterieure is very westernized but the music is sweetly Slavic, even if her voice is not THAT powerful. Yet, she is slowly becoming popular in Poland. Ani Lorak - Rozkazhy (Tell me) And here's the most popular Ukrainian tune ever. But beware, it is so immensly sentimental that it can easily trigger the tears in eyes! Ridna Maty Moya - Mother of mine
