We had quite numerous and powerful Greek minority in Poland. Even my brother went to school with a boy with Greek names - and Greek names are very different that the names from other cultures.
We had a famous artist, Eleni, who was living in Poland although her parents were originally from Greece.
Here you can see her song and listen to the interview: Wideoteka Doros³ego Cz³owieka - Eleni. 2004

Poles accepted Greek political refuges after the Civil War in 1949. The majority of them settled in the West, in new territories which Poland got after the war. The majority of them were leftists and were fighting against the nationalists. But Greek communists were very different than Soviet communists. The total number of immigrants were about 14 thousands people here is more about it in Polish: pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mniejszo%C5%9B%C4%87_grecka_w_Polsce

Eleni had several records and she had quite many fans, but her music was not really popular all over Poland, just in certain communities of people. I remember I visited a family friends and she had plenty of records of Eleni. In that time I barely heard about her existence so I was very surprised how many records she already had published.

It appears that all the Greeks that come to America open up Greek restaurants and diners. We have quite a few here where I live. Great food and they all seem to be doing well.
