I had a dream that Jewish-German gay couple took back our house and field: Poles use to accuse Jews and German about everything evil

My dad told me when I was a child that the word, "Slav," meant "slave" in German. Is that true?

Slave in English is "Sklave" in German Slavic in English is Slawisch in German
so, this is not true although some people talk about a possible etymology of word Slavic from slave.

Thanks for answering, Jaga. That was a hilarious cartoon, by the way. It reminds me of when I was a young man going through a difficult time...I read a quote that said: "You grow up a lot when you take your first laugh--at yourself!" Also, I see places sometimes in the site that read, "Quote." Does that mean we can make up our own quotes to put in there, or quote someone else, or both?

paul,
Quotes are supposed to quote some previously stated words. You may quote yourself, but you should already have actually said/written it publicly, not type something you just made up. This is standard literary practice, not something limited to this forum.

Thanks, ILAPG,
I was talking of that "QUOTE" section near our postings. I actually figured out it meant quoting, and thus responding, to someone else's previous quote. Sorry for my novice mistake, I appreciate your helping.
