Chris, Charles and Les Wheatley via Charles, As is said in Britain " You've been a brick". Solid and steady support for Leslie and getting the word out to the rest of the forum. To all members, whether or not you know Leslie, say a prayer for him, he's a great guy. Joan

Charles, Please pass on to Leslie that the Ole Yankee from New Hampshire misses him and wishes to hear from him again. Nothing like the old rebels from across the pond to stir things up a bit !!!!! If he wants I'll even say "God save the queen"!!! Whatever that means.

Dear All, I visited Leslie yesterday. He was awake, more alert and in far better spirits than when I last saw him. He is still very poorly though. He has had more visitors as people have learned he is ill and this has cheered him up. I was also able to do a much better job at passing on your messages - he was delighted that so many of you are thinking about him and this also raises his spirits very much. He sends his thanks and best wishes to you all. Will be in touch again soon - planning another visit on Wednesday and will speak to his son Oliver in the meantime. Best wishes Les

The following is from Mr. Wheatley. I was to stay out of this, but it is my duty to you for transfer of this unfortunant news.
Charles
Dear All, There isn't an easy way to say this. Leslie passed away this evening at around 6pm UK time. It wasn't unexpected - when I saw him last Thursday I knew it wouldn't be long but at least on Sunday he had ralllied and was lucid enough to hear all of your kind messages. It really cheered him up that so many friends from around the world were thinking of him and sending their love and support. Unfortunately I was at work this evening but my wife went to see him and said that he didn't suffer in any way and died peacefully while asleep. He is a very sad loss - a very good friend to me and I will miss him a lot. He was a true gentleman - very kind and thoughtful and a great enthusiast for many things. I know that you will be sad at the news but I'm relieved in a way that it didn't drag on too long. Sorry to be the bearer of such sad news. I will let you know the funeral arrangements as soon as I have them. If anyone wishes to send any messages I will gladly pass them on to his son, Oliver. Best wishes to all Les

Charles .... I just read my copy of the email. I really did not expect him to go this quickly. One is never prepared no matter how much we think we might be. It is a terrible loss losing Leslie. Although I never met him in person but grew to be very found of him from the forum and personal emails. It will be a very sad loss for the forum by not having his presence here any longer. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends as this is a most difficult time for all who knew him. I am glad to hear that he went peacefully and was not in pain. He truly was a "gentleman".

Charles, cc Les Wheatley, I am saddened by Leslie's passing. Yes a gentleman not often found today. I wish I could have known him in person. All of us in the forum have lost a great cyber friend. I will miss him. Joan

Thank you also for post of Leslie's photo, this was very dear of you to do so. It is a manner not only for us, but for him to say to us: Good Bye. Thank you and bless you for doing so Chris. Charles
