With God's blessing, Cracow will soon have another Saint, as the process of canonization for Rozalia Celakówna has been initiated by Card. Franciszek Macharski since November 5, 1996. Born in September 19, 1901, at the age of 19, Rozalia entered the "dark night of the spirit," suffering great tribulations, which included "attacks by the evil spirit and the visions of hell." This suffering was instrumental in developing in Rozalia a boundless admiration for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and resulted in a mistical union with Him, the Mother of God, and St. Joseph. Beginning with 1930, Rozalia experienced many prophetic visions, among which the most important was that "Poland must be the first in proclaiming Jesus as her King and Lord by both church and state." Although the Act of Coronation, to my knowledge, has not yet happened due to political opposition, there is some movement in this direction. Jesus had promised Rozalia that "all nations which make such proclamation will be spared from annihilation." The Saint died on September 13, 1944, and her remains rest in Cracow, at the Rakowicki Cemetery (section XLVIII west, tomb # 9). The process of Beatification has been completed in Poland on April 17, 2007, on the diocesan level, according to a decree by Card. Stanis³aw Dziwisz, and now it is up to Rome to declare Rozalia a Saint, which hopefully will soon happen.
