Historically, some armies are more ruthless than others. I watched the video twice, so as not to make a precipitous judgment. My conclusion is that the Israeli army, at least this unit, is callous and cruel. Strangely, the two young soldiers reminded me of Hitlerjugend. I went to grammar school with several such youngsters who were put in school by Youth Services after the war. They were nighteen or twenty years old at the time and we were much, much younger. Their demeanor and smiles were identical to those Israeli soldiers. They recounted in class how they were trained to befriend and then torture domestic animals by breaking their legs and gauging their eyes. It was meant to increase their fighting effectiveness by making them immune to emotions. I wonder what these young Israelies are being taught in their anti-entifada manuals? Are they by chance being told that the Palestinians are "animals" and that they should be treated as such? The similarity between the soldiers shown in the video and the Hitlerjugend is so astounding that someone should investigate!

Hello Nathanael,
I am glad you saw this post. I was wondering what would be your reply, and I am impressed by your very mature reflections.
I think, that these soldiers are very normal but normal people can be sometimes very cruel. Just like the famous experiment in 1971 about students who were either the guard or prisoners showed.
The Israel treatment of Palestine is not any better than Serbs treatement of Albanians in Kosowo. Somehow, we cannot criticize Israel policy here in the US because it is a taboo.
