I have been of thought of you and the PC trouble you have experienced. Hopefully the good people at the repair shop will apply their skills and have you on the road once more. Have I also been of thought of your mother, with great hope that all is better with her. For she has faced a great battle with sickness. You are as my self, we are both selfish to the extreme of our mothers for they are not ever to be replaced. Charles

Rdy, CPU's are wonderful when they work, but when they do not they are horrid. Been there, done that and it's a pain in the neck. Hope all works out for the best for you and your Mom.

Greetings from the local library (thank God for them in times like this) and the clock is ticking...LOL
My computer still is in the hospital and not yet diagnosed ....hopefully today they will let me know(they just better) And to make it even more laughable..Dell called back over a week late. Wanted to know how my computer was doing...Hahahah!!!! So I let them have it. If you tell me you are going to call at a certain time then do it. Don't hold me hostage in my own home.
Charles ...my mom looks like won't be dishcharged form Rehab. They feel she is not safe on her own. So w/e has been nuts as I had this meeting Friday and they give me the w/e to decide what to do with her. Finally took O2 off so I gave her a ride around the grounds and this was her first day outside jail. She thinks she is going home this Friday cause that is when her therapys end and so also Medicare kicking in. How do you tell her she might not. I am curently looking into alternatives to see if possible she can be home but with some care/supervision. And her words while there is don't leave me here I want to go home. I am beside myself. So when it rains it pours.

Chris,
+++when it rains it pours+++
I did not realize that you have so many worries. I wonder what type of virus did you get. Just recently I received a warning from my previous work account not to open any attachment since they have nasty viruses.
I was worried about you. I did not realize that your mom is in the Rehab now. I know how you need each other, I just hope that everything will work well with the insurance and she would come home soon!

So when it rains it pours. Chris For how and what am I to say, on the side of the coin, ok fine, whilst on the other side of the Roman coin, yes I have much to share and speak of. You care for your mum, in-as-much as I mine. The gates of hell would be breached and blown to the other hell if interference with us. But, and I say But----your mum as of my mum, need the special care only that of professionals, yes, professionals. We are not professionals. And yes, my mum was released from with a considerable amount of pressure of my self and that of her, to her home to live on her own. I was elated and very proud. But, I was stupid. For on her initial day, she was to save walking from kitchen with tea and she then fell and broke her shoulder and re-opened her previous broken arm. The kept silent until the following day as pain become too much for her. Yes, my mum was to spend upon 6 weeks in a nursing home for the idiots and mindless. She learnt her lesson in-as-much as of my self. She now is living in an assisted living facilities. It is not cheap, it is US $6000. of per month. But, it is well worth it. For she has her own privacy, with trained people to watch after her with her medicine and best of all, to check upon her at the most venerable times {early evening to 04.00 hr. most people expire at these times with their close to birthday time/Christmas and Easter.} But, each is different, and yours is perhaps much different. You must do what is yours to do. Just though, watch out for the other siblings, for what was your former friend and relative, may and will be your most hated enemy.. Of end of message, the window will open, with the Rhine Maidens thunder of horse and battle carriage, with the sounds of Wagner. Charles

Greeting from Webster library. ;D Not sure what type of a virus I got or where from. I do not make it a habit to open mail from anyone but friends. Try to be as careful as I can but sometimes sh--t happens. The good news they called today for passwords to my accounts so this means they finally got to looking at it. Now hopefully for some good news about computer. Charles ...thanks for all the advice. The only reason we even considered a nursing home was due to safety issues. She is no longer safe and no on can stay with her 24/7 unless a private duty was hired. Her rehab said her Medicare expired this Friday but they never checked her insurance and so did not use her 100 days up. She is covered till Sept 27. So now must go talk to the facility to see about keeping her there longer. I appealed the decision and found this out that they were not billing her correctly. Never take no for an answer especially with insurance companies cause this is not anything new. I can't believe they admitted her and never checked her insurance and did everything on assumption.. Behave ya all .................................. C ya

But, them telling you your Medicare expired is wrong, wrong, wrong. Medicare doesn't expire. You become eligible when you hit a certain age or condition and it stays with you till you depart for the blue skies. I don't understand what they are trying to say to you.

JJ;
Chris is right in what she is telling us. Although Medicare is forever, there are clauses in the that will only cover a certain time in a nursing facility.
I think that it is about 100 days??? I know that this is a fact. I spent two terms in a nursing facility. That only kicks in if a hospital discharges you and recommends a nursing home. The last stint that my wife and I served in a nursing home was not sanctioned by a hospital.. We entered on our own. We had serious problems at home and my daughter as the primary care giver was about to crack. So we entered on our own.. Medicare would not cover my wife or me.. Because we entered on our own. The VA picked up my tab.. But I had to pay for my wife... We shared the same room together for a year..I paid $92,000,00 out of my own money to pay for her.

JJ; I was being kind to you this morning when I told you about medicare and nursing homes. Allow me to elaborate more deeply. Read below. . I read that Medicare doesn’t pay for staying in a nursing home. But my friend is in a nursing home, and she says Medicare’s picking up the tab. Who’s right? A. Both are right. Medicare doesn’t normally cover “custodial” care for people who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities. Custodial care means help with daily living activities, such as eating, getting in and out of bed, washing and bathing, going to the toilet and moving around. Paying for this type of care is your own responsibility, unless you have long-term care insurance that covers it or you qualify for Medicaid benefits from your state. But there’s one exception. Medicare’s skilled nursing facility (SNF) benefit covers a temporary stay in a nursing home in certain circumstances. Now comes the kicker.. When all of your resources are depleted.. Medicaid from your State kicks in. But first you have to turn over all of your assets to the State. All of your cash savings.. All of your investments. Your home. Pensions. Insurance policies Annuities Anything of value If a spouse remains at home .. He is allowed to keep the house and one automobile.. The spouse in the Nursing facility receives $35.00 a month for personal use.. Isn't that a ball buster? My sister in law is in a home in Mass.. The same thing applies to her.

Franek is correct . In my mom's case. She came out of the hospital and went into rehab. (SNF) She is covcered for 100 days if recieving skilled care which is either Nursing, Occupational, Physical, Speech therapies. In on 6/19 and 7/9 the 20th day they paid in full and after that she must pay 1/2 of the copay of 119.00 her share is 59.50. But her skilled care ended as of tomorrow so at that point any longer must be paid in full. So then it jumps to 365/day. Since they did not consider her safe to go home alone the options are stay and admit to the nursing home or go home but must provide 24 hr care for her. (this out of pocket) Medicare may pay for some hours for an aide. Other opiton is assisted living (which to me is same as a nurisng home if you aren't going to your own home) Now since she only has some measily little bank account as she is not rich they will take over her monies and then have her apply for Medicaid. She will be allowed to have 50.00/month for spending as they feel she is having all her meals and medical provided for and only need some spending money for (not sure what 50.00 is supposed to buy in todays world and she can forget about giving gifts on 50.00 bucks) I could not tell her we signed her into a Nursing Home and has her SW tell her today. I thought it was going to be a very bad scene when I arrived but she just said...bad news they say I have to stay longer. So unless she really has it figured out she thinks she will be going home at a differnet date when she gets stronger. Here is where she is ... www.viahealth.org/body_senior.cfm?id=63I hope no one has to go through this as this has been one of the hardest days of my life and is killing me. PS...................I'm back
