Airport Taser victim Dziekanski's funeral to be held in Poland Canwest News Service Published: Friday, July 18, 2008 VANCOUVER - The funeral for Robert Dziekanski, the Polish immigrant who died after being Tasered by RCMP officers at the Vancouver airport, will be held Saturday in his hometown of Pieszyce, Poland. Dziekanski was Tasered early on Oct. 14, 2007, after he began behaving erratically in a secure area of Vancouver International Airport, pacing and throwing items against a glass wall. By then, he had been at the airport for about 10 hours waiting for his mother, Zofia Cisowski of Kamloops, to pick him up. She was waiting for him outside the international arrivals section, but they never connected despite her entreaties to airport officials to find him. www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/story.html?id=cbe6ae5b-5a3a-4c69-9945-05189b3ca4bf

That was indeed a very unfortunate and tragic situation. It must be also very difficult for his mother to deal with her loss.
Hopefully, the RCMP will have emplaced a revision of policy in future situations of similar circumstances, for the resulting death of this man was a needless tragedy.

Charles,
very well said. Maybe this would help somebody else who would be in similar situation like this man. I understand that he was very upset. He could not deal with the situation in a new country, without knowing a language.
