LOL, Piwo, I am mellow also! I really loved the music that Frank sent, then I tried to buy more.
I learned a couple of things:
that group (the K&K Studio Singers) are considered the "ABBA" of Poland,
their CDs are out-of-print, can't buy them except on auction sites,
but more importantly, the stuff I grew up on, as Polish Music, is really Polish-American music, and not the same thing at all.
I have to say that I never liked Pol-Am music, but the real thing is something else again. Some of my cousins in Poland are related to a "famous" Polish folk band (Sowa Family Band from Piatkowa) and that music sounds ....Appalachian ... to me! Drums, spoons.. no wonder I fell in love with Irish folk music when Polish was available only as mutated into American.

I asked my friend in Warsaw to look for music by the same group that Frank had sent --- my friend called the recording studio and they said the CDs were "out of print." "Biesiada" is not the name of the group - it describes the music - the group is K&K Studio singers. The only place my friend can find the music by this group is on the auction sites (similar to eBay).

Nancy,
Actually if you follow Jaga's URL you will find the cost to be 27PLN. I think I'll just pick it up on my next trip.

Jaga's link goes to some music, but it is not what Frank sent. Well, check it out and if you like it, maybe I will try it also!
