Hi David,
Good news, be patient with her and arrange things well!
By the way are you a Dutch-American or do you just have a Dutch name?

Thanks Karl & Neville! Kai, here's do's and don'ts ... do: buy flowers & anything else she likes. don't: forget to say I love you. Oh, and any girl that fixates about meanings of particular flower types & colors isn't worth pursuing dbkaczor: didn't realize my cheap web service provider (domainavenue.com) going down makes me a liar. Try doing a whois lookup on my domain if it's so important to you. dvc ilapg, yeah when i clicked on the links i was transported to spam websites. so i really apologize if i insulted you in any way. just looking out for my polish sisters. you never know who you are really talking to on the net. i wish for you and your polish girl a very happy future. dawn

Kai, here's do's and don'ts ... do: buy flowers & anything else she likes. don't: forget to say I love you. Oh, and any girl that fixates about meanings of particular flower types & colors isn't worth pursuing dvc Your statement reminds me of the 2 or 3 time married fellow I met who said the next lady would have to be a Carhart woman! (for non-Americans, Carhart is a manufacturer of heavy duty outdoor work clothes. See the photo below). I will agree about women who fixate on flowers ... however, the major point is for YOUR long term benefit. You are dealing with a different culture, even if the lady is coming to you in your land. The more you know about her society and standards the better you may understand her. Hopefully the opportunity to unintentionally offend her or her family will be reduced. In various societies it can be extremely insulting to show the bottom of your shoes to someone else; our "OK" hand sign conveys 'a$$hole' in some other cultures. And some colors and numbers of flowers are reserved for passionate love, and are not appropriate for her mother or girlfriends.... what traps lie out there, I don't know. I do believe that a few words of advice from Jaga may be wrth more than their weight in gold to you. Thus I made the request. Best of luck! Kai Carhartt ladies clothing:

ilapg I read your website and thought I was on a different planet! Are you sure this is in English? I'm no techno person and didn't understand any of it. Maybe you are just a genius! Neville Hi Neville. You wrote Are you sure this is in English? I'm no techno person and didn't understand any of it. It is correct situation. The problem would be were you a techno person and wouldn't understand, am I right? ;D Btw. how's that snow you got from America? You must have taken all of it, warm air and rain from the West is coming this way , the winter's gone, jak sen złoty (as a golden dream) ;D

Well, some of you are going to remain skeptical, I'm sure, but... Moj kochona came to me this week...... and she said YES! Congratulations! ;D I think Kai is right about learning the flowers code. It is not something you must know, and you are right - by no means it is a must for the sensible part of the society. But it is a nice part of the culture and the 'love games' And you surely wouldn't like to welcome her with flowers not ment for joyful occassions, even if she doesn't care (but knows) about their meaning. Wszystkiego najlepszego!

David and Renata, Best wishes and thank you for sharing your joy with us! I hope that Renata will want to share some of her photos of Poland with us. I am assuming we will be invited to the wedding right? At least the reception - we can dance the night away!
