Oh you are a dear heart.. Klaus Kinski! He was {is} my favourite actor. It was such a shame of his death. He has a very beautiful daughter, an actress: Nastassia Kinski. Klaus was in many German films and I am not sure if they were shown in the US. He did play in a western {not sure of the name at moment} with Clint Eastwood, it was one of those spaghetti westerns. I think his lines extended to about 5-6 words until he was shot in the saloon shoot out by Clint Eastwood. Charles

Jaga Thank You for that was easy. I am amazed non other had beaten me to the answer. With Klaus, he was in a film as an eccentric in Brazil. He hired a tribe of head hunters to move a very large steam boat from a river up extremely steep mountain side, to a lake. Boy, at the moment I just can not recall the name of the movie. Mr. Kinski was always my ideal to adhere to. I always thought he was so suave and neat. Whilst I was gawky with boney knees and simply not Hollywood material. Oh Wirklichkeit und Träume, Wo Sie sind? {Oh reality and dreams, where are you?} Charles

Aha, so that is who it is! I have also seen that movie in the Amazon, and it defines my image of Kinski. I never knew his background and knowing so little, always pictured him as an interesting, strange charachter, or playing the type. I never kenw of the Polish connection, despite the name. Many Germans carry Slavic names, I presume as a result of the German colonization into Slavic territories centuries ago.
