Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty held a press conference this afternoon to tell the media that he's not planning on running for a third term for governor.
so maybe we will see him running for president in 4 years?
He is of Polish-German descend.

I think you are right that he is planning a run for the presidency, or at the least, as a senator. I like him, but I don't think he can beat Obama. He strikes me as an establishment politician, a statist. (That is, he believes in the state more than in the individual in solving the individual's problems.) There's no way a statist is going to beat Obama with the media on his side. I don't know, Jaga, if you read one of my other comments...it was about a top Polish politician who wrote a book in the 80's: "The Liberation of One." I think there is something very profound in that statement. I think it means that until a country does not infringe on the individual's rights, it is not really free. Think of how many times individuals' rights have been crushed under the disguise of 'the liberation of the masses.' I think it's a sign of the last days Jesus spoke about, that things would get worse and worse. As Biased media's influence has grown, people think less as individuals and more as sheep. It's amazing the Media's choice ever loses! I hope you don't judge me on this; judge my ideas, not me.

Hi Paul,
I also like Pawlenty, but I also think that maybe he does not have this something which Obama oes. He is also an establishment politician.
I actually like Obama, although I am not sure about his policies. I like the fact that he has so much world experience, since he is a product of so different cultures, just like America is - a mixing pot.
I think the US needed somebody to break its isolation in the world and Obama is right to it.

Paul,
sorry, I did not read all your comments yet. I am slow to go back to the forum routine, but I will look at it tomorrow.

I am amazed at how hard you work keeping up with all the posts. I just hope you do not overdo it, and become exhausted. I also think Pawlenty, Romney, Jindal are not charismatic. They come across like sissies to me. I think you cannot fight fire with fire, to use an American expression. If you have two establishment-types running against each other, how can you contrast yourself? Unfortunately, most politicians have learned that you do not get anywhere by taking a stand on anything. Instead, they try to please everyone. This has been going on for, literally, centuries! (I've read about Lincoln and others and they did the same stuff.) So, rather than blame the politicians only, I think we have to look in the mirror to see the real culprits! Ahh, the mysteries of life! Anyway, I hope you and yours have a good day. It's off to work I go!
