JJ, Stanley Kubrick always questions situations in societies and countries in his sometimes controversial movies. As a movie lover I have seen most of his movies; Spartacus 2001: A Space Odyssey A Clockwork Orange The Shining Full Metal Jacket Eyes Wide Shut

I immediately liked Dr. Strangelove. I guess it is my innate suspicion of things military. One report I saw stated that Stanley Kubrick had George C. Scott play his part as the crazy general several times, most often with one version 'over the top'. Then Kubrick chose the 'over the top' version for inclusion in the final film. Scott was supposed to be unhappy with that. What the devil, I grew up with the bomb as a reality as a kid, so wny not love it and poke fun at it?
Clockwork Orange was too far out for me to follow or to really enjoy. It would be interesting to see again after reading a good analysis of what Kubrick was presenting.
Now 2001 was a film I really liked, as a realistic presentation of science within a fantasy.

The only one that I didn't care for was 'Eyes Wide Shut'. Saw 2001 space odyssey and 2010 space odyssey. Loved these movies. I also read Clarks 2061 and 3001. Great reading. I have been a science fiction buff since the days of Flash Gordon films in the 40's.
