I am sorry that I am so slow with posting new articles recently. I have a project at work which takes me 8-9 hours per day. Ela started a new private school and she has so much homework, we barely can keep up with the program. I was unaware how bad her public school was! here is the newest article with the old but cute photos you are probably familiar with: www.polishsite.us/customs-and-religion/church-and-pope/423.htmlFirst Communion in Poland: Past and Present.

I was unaware how bad her public school was! Would you say the public schools in your part of the US are generally worse than private ones? Or - is it a general rule that private schools are better than public. I am aware of the sharp differences between the two in great cities, especially downtowns of the East Coast.

I heard that many state schools in America are low level. Non-state schools, especially catholic, are much better. Don`t you know that parents queue for a few days and nights in front of best catholic schools to enroll their kids there?

In Idaho which is governed by Republicans - funding for schools is low. Many libertarians believe that there should be no public schooling at all! The superindendent of education in Idaho - Mr.Luna, who got his Master degree online, wants to make sure that taxes are not increased. So school day in Idaho is shorter than in many other states and vacations are longer

I would say that part of the problem of private schools being better than public schools is the US is that public schools are limited by what numerous federal/state laws/regulations say they must do, often without being provided the funds from state/federal governments to accomplish these things. Private schools can do what they want as far as curriculums and services go. Another issue is that public schools are just that, public, and must take and try to educate all students, even if they are extreme behavior problems who disrupt the classrooms. Private schools can simply bar disruptive students from their classrooms, thus allowing more learning to take place.

Thank you Jeanne! In Poland, for reasons unknown to me some public schools (high schools), which are completely free of charge, are much better than some private ones. But I understand that is a bit different to primary schools which, as you have pointed out, have to educate all the citizens no matter what their capabilities are. Thanks!
