The Strasbourg court announced that the accusation directed by the families of NKVD victims murdered in Katyn are valid. Mocow have made the files and the results of 14-year long investigation into Katyn massacre secret, together with the explanation behind making them secret. Further, Polish investigators and historians were denied access to historical documents. Most of all the victims and families were denied the status of sufferers. Those moves are now declared illegal by the international community. The court's decree comes in good time, as it coincides with a positive change in Russia where Stalinist crimes have recently started to be more sharply condemned. It should be noted that Poland since many years have been officially and unofficially working on both the international acceptance of the accusations towards Moscow and on the attitude internal change inside Russia.
