Well, I just realized I don't know how to say in the modern nomenclature 'lista przebojów' in English. Certianly 'music hits radio list' isn't best English... However I'd like to draw the attention of all music lovers here to an oldest 'lista przebojów' in Poland. It operates since 1982, has a lot of charm. You;ll find both Polish and non-POlish hits there. Every Friday 7 p.m. - 10 p.m GMT +1:00 (which .... right now) at www2.polskieradio.pl/sluchaj/play.aspx?p=r3or polskieradio.pl/st/program3M.asxEnjoy!

In the States we call these stations "Top 40" music, meaning the 40 most popular songs in the country based on music service and play count. I've been listening to Polski radia for a few years, but mostly program 1, because it's the only place I can listen to native Polish being spoken regularly. Though it's far to fast for me, I think it helps. Every now and then, I actually understand an entire section.

Thank you. The automated translator www.poltran.com/ says that 'lista przebojów' is List of hit (success)

translatica.pwn.pl translates it as "the hit charts". Top 40 is what we refer to playing the "hit charts. I like this site, and it's translations turn out more "American sounding" which is important for those of us who will tinker with a sentence structure and try to make it sound "American". I've learned how foolish that is, because even many grammatical Polish sentences don't necessarily "sound American" when translated. The language just doesn't always do that. I think this is a sample of a program that comes with a dictionary you can purchase on CD.. but I'm not totally sure. Anyway, I do like it's translations when it works. Sometimes, it just stops translating and I have to log out and back on a few minutes later. The polski radia site is really great, I just wish they would publish a "play list": that is, the actual names of the songs and at what time they play during the day. Is it on there, and I just can't find it because my Polish is so poor? Most USA based stations have a play list you can view online, so that if you hear a song you like while driving or if you miss the name when announced, you can look it up later. It's a nice feature, and I wrote them an email asking about it. No one ever replied, both on the Polish and the American language version on the site.

Hey!! thanks for the link! Thats much better then poltrans. I've checjked the site of Polskie Radio for playslists. There are none, it is not your language. Only kind of musical content of specific broadcats www.polskieradio.pl/trojka/trzymaj/I suggest you e-mail Marek NiedŸwiecki concerning your suggestion www.polskieradio.pl/trojka/ludzie/niedzwiecki.aspat lp3@polskieradio.pl . during one of his programmes, which is, for example, Top 40 on Friday we've been talking about yesterday or 'Markomania' on Saturday 10.00-13.00 GMT+1:00 He rarely lives any e-mails unaswered (at least so he says)

I like the translator, but it sometimes needs some coaxing to make it work.... I'll send Marek an email. Perhaps he'll answer. Not sure one lonely American will pull much weight, but it's worth a shot however....

Piwo, If he does't answer, please let me know, I 'll write him in Polish. If he still wouldn't respond Pieter will write him in Dutch (there is a Dutch correspondent is Lista Przebojów Trójki). If he fails to respond Charles will write in German. And so on and so on I'm sure you'll have the playlist, sooner or later..... Or at least an explanation why you can't have it in a personal letter from Marek Niedzwiecki

Alla Pugachova is always on the top 10 on Russian radio stations, which keeps me very happy.

Chris, I respond late since I wanted to listen to the station for a longer while. It is a Katowice branch of Polskie Radio, they are doing a great job! Here's a list of Polish internet radio stations, perhaps you or someone else may find it useful www.fmonline.org/
