Unfortunately, conscripts in Russia have a shockingly and disturbingly high level of corruption. In the Soviet days they were afraid of the law, but the law today is quite powerless in such matters. At best (for them), some "higher official" will simply dismiss the charges, and, at worst, they can expect a "slap on the wrist."
