Yes, Chicago had 2 days of 80 degrees and today is back to 60's degrees. I noticed everybody got cold and sore throat. So do I, Some can't talk due bad sore throat.
I am enjoying reading this forum while I am recuperating.

I thought it was snowing last night in Idaho but it was just a rain. But it was so cold last night. I could not go to sleep before putting on a pair of really warm socks

yesterday it was snowing again in Idaho Falls. We had at least 3 snow storms, but the snow did not stick to the ground for too long. It is quite cold again. I am tired of this winter!

Hi Jaga,
Haven't seen snow since I left the mountains... some haile somewhere, but after two weeks on the road it is hard to tell when without checking notes!
I am in Marathon, Ontario on the north shore of Lake Superior, just where I want to be. It is aa very beautiful drive and I am trying to take my time, perhaps with 770 miles to go it will take me three more days.
The whole trip was quite pleasant except the crossing of Saskatchwan and Manitoba, which coincided with a jump for 12 or 15 C to 30+ C, so I was roasting and happy to have air conditioning. (from a fine 50-70F to high 90's F).
So far have met just wonderful people more than happy to share their fine country and sights and experiences. One night I went with some locals from a Provincial Park to a neighboring town to listen to a children's quire from Uganda. It was a good program & nice costumes, and from my vantage point a great opportunity to watch the woman director as she worked, which added to the program and music for me.
I haven't sat still long enough with an electrical connection long enough to process the photos. That is why I haven't sent any.
So I have had winter and hot, hot summer, and slept last night within a few meters of Lake Superior waves breaking on the beach... what a magnificent inland Lake it is!
Kai

Kai, it looks that you have a time of your life. Remember, if you ever come close to Idaho come visit us! I hope that in that time we would not have snow anymore. Today is cold and dark and rainy. I am tired of this weather really.

I am on the border and about to cross over from the Canadian heat wave to perhaps the Michigan heat wave. I should be with family on the third day (Thursday). Then ...
And in two weeks or less my work starts! Canada is a really nice country!

It was interesting crossing back into the US. the fellow wanted to know why I had taken so long to travel through Canada (From May 8 to May 25th). Up to that point I had covered 3900 miles, almost the full 7000 km I originally estimated. tomorrow I should arrive at my sister's house, the official first goal. Then the task is to prepare for school in a bit over a week...
