Please, check it here. Walter Whipple is a professor of Polish and Slavic literature in Utah. He is also a member of LDS. I saw the exposition of a beautiful Polish folk art which belongs to him here in IDaho Falls! I hope I would be able to show you some of the pictures! I was trying to learn about him a bit more and then.... I found the website with the translations of the most beautiful Polish poems by him: www.mission.net/poland/warsaw/literature/translat.htm

check the famous locomotive poem by Walter: www.mission.net/poland/warsaw/literature/poems/locomoti.htmA big locomotive has pulled into town, Heavy, humungus, with sweat rolling down, A plump jumbo olive. Huffing and puffing and panting and smelly, Fire belches forth from her fat cast iron belly. Poof, how she's burning, Oof, how she's boiling, Puff, how she's churning, Huff, how she's toiling. She's fully exhausted and all out of breath, Yet the coalman continues to stoke her to death. ...

Jaga, that's wonderful!!! And a real piece of work - to translate all these onomatopeias and still keep the meaning.

Ladies,
yes, I think that Walter did a wonderful job. By the way, he also has a collection of the Polish primitive folk religious art. The exhibition of his collection was here in Idaho Falls. This is actually how I found out about him.
I am trying to reach him to find out whether I would be able to post some of the photos of these sculptures on my website - but I did not hear back from him.
Then I found out that he is also a translator
