A police car rescues Four German tourists from the top of a car in the flooded Magela Creek in Kakadu National Park, on Monday January 3, 2011. (NT Police) Police urge safety after tourist croc scarePolice are urging tourists to learn about the dangers of driving in the Northern Territory after four Germans became trapped in their car in a crocodile-infested river. The group tried to drive across Magella Creek on the Oenpelli Road in Kakadu National Park yesterday when the road was one metre under water. Duty Superintendent Del Jones says they were trying to cross at a speed of 80 kilometres per hour when their car got stuck. "Really unsafe driving. We try to alert tourists when they come to Australia about the very different road conditions but some people just don't seem to listen," he said. "Apparently a large crocodile had been sighted by the officers in the area the previous week, so it was quite risky for them." www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/01/04/3106117.htm
