I just saw yesterday a German film "Das Boot" on the crew of one of German submarines. The film is set during WWII and tells a story of life, boredom, courage, fear and lots of other stuff. I can't find good words to tell you about it. It's a must. Moving but not sentimental.

It took me several tries to get through.

Forza, I saw it on DVD, but the sonuds of water, metal and sonar signal - a masterpiece. Funny thing is that I would never pick it to watch, I go for more relaxing movies. I'll ask my husband where he got it - it must have been attached to some magazine because it cost only 10 zl.

Zooba
I also seen the film in 1981 of, Das Boot. It was exciting! I almost cried in the end when the U-Boat was sunk and Jürgen Prochnow sank to his knes with his heart ripped out of him at the loss of his command.
It was very moving. The Kriegs marine service would not be my cup of tea, as I am afraid of dying. So, it was very empressive to me!
